Lenovo has just showcased its A6000 smartphone at CES and it is already slated to be launched in India within a week from now. This is a budget handset with powerful specs, going along the lines of Xiaomi and the recent Yu Yureka. This dual SIM handset sports a 5” display and is just 7.99 mm thick, making it easy to handle or carry in your pocket. It is also quite lightweight for its size at just 128 grams.
The handset features Dolby Digital Plus stereo speakers, producing distinctly better sound quality. This is the same technology as featured on Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX, so the quality is expected to be comparable. The device features up to 4G LTE connectivity, although you will be able to use only up to 3G in India at least in the near future.
Here are the specifications of the Lenovo A6000:
- Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Vibe UI 2.0
- Dual SIM (2G, 3G, 4G LTE)
- 5” 1280x720 IPS display
- 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core 64-bit CPU
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 GB internal storage with expandable microSD card slot
- 8 mp rear and 2 mp front camera
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
- Twin speakers with Dolby Digital Plus
- 2300 mAh battery with 13 hours talktime and 11.5 days standby
The handset will be exclusively launched on the online portal Flipkart.com for a reasonable Rs 8000 according to anonymous sources. While the launch date is not clear, it will not be later than the 16th of January. If the date is true, then this will be just 3 days after its potential competitor Yu Yureka debuts on Amazon.in. It remains to be seen what Indian consumers prefer, but one thing is for sure that with new and affordable entrants into the category, the war of budget Android smartphones is going to intensify in 2015 right from the month of January.
Here are a few snapshots of the Lenovo A6000.
