Mercury 3G Mifi Router Brings Real Portability To A Hotspot

Kobian has launched the Mercury 3G Mifi Router, which comes with inbuilt battery backup. The router has a SIM card slot that can accept a 3G card and easily start sharing internet by creating a Wi-Fi hotspot that can support up to 10 simultaneous users. It also supports 3G dongles, thanks to a USB port, and can share internet from a local network that it can receive via an Ethernet port. With a white plastic casing and blue indicator LEDs, it even looks good.

The router supports HSPA 3G download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5.76 Mbps, with 150 Mbps Wi-Fi data transfer speeds for a smooth internet experience to connected devices. The 3000 mAh battery can keep the device running on a full charge for up to 10 hours, and can even double up as a portable power bank via its USB port. The device can also function when connected to the wall socket via a power adapter as it charges. As if that's not enough, the device also has a microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB card, to be used as a USB memory stick. Mercury is yet to release the price of this product, but I don't expect it to be too expensive. I will keep you posted as pricing details are received.
